Pre-Move Orientation
This customized program is designed to assist in the process of decision making about moving to Switzerland. This may include area orientation, viewing of schools & potential living areas, educational options and consulting, as well as information on daily life issues such as shopping and banking, health care, insurance, taxation, public & private transport, leisure and sports facilities, telephone & communications, and more.
Home Finding
To help find your new home we will arrange various activities including area orientation tours, school appointments, real estate appoints, visits to shopping areas and medical facilities, introduction to furniture & appliance purchase, as well as special interest facilities and further activities as requested.
Your counselor can help you negotiate rental costs and other fees, arrange for lease contracts, deposits, and for telephone installation & utility connections.
Settling In Services
Practical support services start before you move and continue after you arrive in Switzerland. Ongoing access to our counselor is available for the duration of your assignment. Typical settling-in services include assistance on your moving day, community familiarization, opening bank & post accounts, explanation of the public transport system, and understanding the health care system. Furthermore, you can request personalized support such as an introduction to expatriate organizations and networks, leisure activities, cultural "survival training", and learning how to get things done in Switzerland.
ON-GOING DESTINATION SUPPORT
Many questions will still arise after settling in. Long-term aid helps making the stay in Switzerland a success. Following the conclusion of the Home Finding or Settling-In Programs, our counselor is available to clients for the duration of their assignment, providing local information, help with emergencies, support with language problems, recommendations for places of interest, and more.
DEPARTURE SERVICES
Before departing Switzerland many things have to be noted and organized. These tasks are bureaucratic in nature requiring knowledge of the language and system. Assistance is typically provide for things such as lease termination, cancellation of utilities, cancellation of insurances & memberships, re-registration at the community office, moving out inspection, etc. Co-ordination of the complete moving process including movers' quotations, timing and supervision can be arranged on request.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES
Further assistance can be requested for specific requirements such as temporary housing, document assistance, cross-cultural training, educational counseling, spouse career counseling, office relocation, pre-departure briefing, and home finding for people already living in Switzerland.
Educational Consulting
This program assists families with the selection and making first contact with appropriate schools or day care providers for their children. Based on an assessment of needs, families will be provided with thorough information about the Swiss school & daycare system, the international schools,as well as a definition of requirements and documentation for the appropriate schools or daycare providers. Appointments are arranged and can be accompanied by your counselor.
Cross-Cultural Training
Cross-Cultural training helps participants understand the local culture, including everything from shopping times to business etiquette. Different programs are offered to cover the various aspects of living in Switzerland, and are tailored to each participants specific needs to ensure a smooth and simple transition into their new life in Switzerland.
